Orlando

We had a fabulous time in Orlando visiting with Ryan's brother and his family (Jason, Lisa, Sara, and Anna). Mikey enjoyed having 2 extra playmates. He got lots of attention! On the plane he did great. We flew at night so that Mikey would just sleep the whole way.

Wishful thinking.

He didn't sleep, but he didn't scream the whole way either. So I guess that makes the trip a success.

While we were there we visited a cute little neighborhood park, went to Sea World, and visited Santa (see pictures below). We also walked around the University of Central Flordia where Ryan went to school. The best thing about Orlando this time of year is the weather. It was about 80 degrees every day. Perfect weather. The only downer of the trip was that Mikey got an ear infection. Luckily, Lisa had a friend that was a pediatric nurse practitioner. So she came by the house and checked out Mikey's ears and said that the right one was infected. We were so thankful not to have to go to a doctor's office. She just called in some medicine. Fortunately, his ears didn't bother him on the plane ride home. Thank goodness!

We took tons of pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Visiting Santa

Did you know that the real Santa comes to Orlando every year? I guess he wants to enjoy some warm weather before he makes his journey all around the world. All the Orlando moms just LOVE Santa because he even brings his own photographers with him (all the way from the North Pole). During our visit with Ryan's brother we jumped at the opportunity to sit on the real Santa's lap. We had to wait about 2 hours because of the long line, but it was well worth it.

Just chillin' in the stroller waiting to see the big guy.

Mikey loved his cousins Sara and Anna. They entertained him during the long wait.

Mommy, why did you put me on this man's lap?

Hummm, let me get a good look at you.

I'm not so sure about all this. And what are Mommy and Daddy doing behind that guy with the camera? Why are they jumping up and down?
Get me out of here!

Let me look at this guy one more time. Yup, I want no part of this!
Mommy, stop laughing at me! Come and get me!
Enough is enough! Daddy I'm not going to let you go!

Do you think this makes me a bad mom for laughing at my baby who is in misery? I'm sure he'll be in therapy later in life for this moment.

What a week!

After a week of traveling to Orlando back home for one night then on to Little Rock we have finally made it home for good. We have had a fantastic week from visiting Santa, Shamu, and family. Check back soon for pics. I'm still unpacking! :)

Snug as a bug in a rug

I took Mikey out to watch a soccer game that Ryan was coaching. This was the first time that he got to wear his coat. When I put it on him he just fell back because he had so many clothes on. He didn't even move. I was so glad that my camera was close by!

Eating popcorn at the game.

Playing with Grandpa

Ryan's dad was able to come and visit us for Thanksgiving. He brought Mikey his very own teddy bear from when he was a boy! That's one old bear! HA!

Thaksgiving Day

Mikey had a wonderful first Thanksgiving. He was so thankful that Mommy and Daddy were home all week! Just this week he started climbing up on things so we lowered his crib mattress. Also, his front upper tooth started coming in. Here are some pictures of his Thanksgiving meal. He had turkey and rice along with green beans. He even tasted some pumpkin pie, but was not a big fan!

Photo Shoot

Last Saturday we had some family pictures taken. I was so worried because the weather around here was windy and cooler than I thought it was going to be. We bundled Mikey up in the stroller as we went looking for the perfect spot to shoot our pictures. He did a great job! You can look at some of our pictures here. Now comes the hard part...deciding which pictures to order! If you are in need of a photographer I would highly recommend the one that we used. I should have known that she would be great because her name is Courtney too! HA HA!

Happy Halloween

Mikey's first Halloween began with a Palmisano tradition of carving pumpkins. Ever since Ryan and I started dating, we've carved pumpkins together on Halloween night. It's not an original family tradition, I realize, but it's a tradition none the less. We even named the first ones Spooks and Smiles. This would be a great place to insert a picture of those 2 pumpkins of long ago. But those that know me well, will not be suprised to find out that I didn't take a picture of them. But I digress! Here are some pictures of Mikey's first Halloween experience.

Curious about all the candy.

All in all it was a great night. Ryan and I were way more excited than Mikey was, but that's the way it usually is around here. For now anyway!

Pumpkin Patch

Have I mentioned that the weather around here has been fabulous? We went to a pumpkin patch this weekend. Mikey loved looking at all the other people around us. He especially loved the hay!

Beautiful Weather

I love this time of year! The weather around here yesterday was fabulous! We decided to take advantage of it and take Mikey to the park. When we put him in the swings he didn't know what to think, but eventually he did like it. We will be making more visits to this little park.

7 Months

7 things I know about Mikey:

1. He is still a great sleeper. He takes 2 two hour naps every day, and he sleeps 12 hours at night! WOO HOO!

2. He loves his fruits and veggies. I started giving him chicken this week. The first night he did not like it at all, but the second night he gobbled it all up like a pro.

3. His cheeks are the cutest things in the world!

4. He loves his daddy. Whenever Ryan walks into the room, Mikey will kick his feet and smile.

5. He is learning to squeal......very loudly!

6. He loves his babysitter...and she loves him!

7. He is starting to CRAWL!!!!!!
