Christmas Card Outtakes

Now that our Christmas cards have been sent out in the mail, I thought I would be funny to show a few of the pictures that didn't quite make the cut.  We took the kids to a beautiful park in hopes that the scenery would help make a great picture.  When you are dealing with a 4 year old and a 20 month old you also need a little bit of luck.

Can't you just picture big brother with little sister on his lap?  Um, this isn't quite the vision I had in mind.

Pioneer Woman's alien hand came all the way to Texas and popped in our picture.

And at this point, Julianna was DONE!  She was ready to eat!

Mikey's First Basketball Game

Our friends know that the NBA gene is not in our family, but this past weekend Mikey made Ryan and I proud parents.  He scored the first basket.

Then he scored another....

and another....

and another!

Zoo

During the week of Thanksgiving, we took the kids to the zoo.  Mikey hadn't been since he was 2 and Julianna had never been.  It was a great day topped off with beautiful weather.

Twinkies

Since Hostess Brands announced that they would be going out of business, we gave the kids their first Twinkie tonight.

Mikey loved it!

Julianna could not get it in her mouth fast enough!

Julianna's first haircut

We got the back of Julianna's hair trimmed this weekend.  She was a nervous wreck!  It always takes her a long time to warm up to new people, so having a "stranger" come close enough to her to cut her hair did not go over well.

Finally relaxing a little.....of course we are finished!

Happy Halloween

Our Halloween traditions start with carving a pumpkin.  This year the kids got small pumpkins at our visit to the pumpkin patch.  So, that's what Mikey wanted to carve.

The finished product

Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman making the world safer along with a beautiful butterfly making the world prettier.

Those eyes.....

Humm....which house will give use the best candy?

Fall is here

Now that the weather is a bit cooler we are finally able to play outside.  Even in the rain yesterday we pulled the cars out and let the kids play in the garage.  Mikey is pretending to be a race car driver.  That's why he has on his batting helmet and gloves.  You will notice that he is wearing his spiderman pjs.  He wears them at home ALL.THE.TIME.  It's always a sad day when they have to be washed.

Does this look like the face of a race car driver to you?

Julianna is learning to kick the ball around.  Future soccer player in the making.

Mikey's first soccer game

Today was Mikey's first soccer game.  He was all smiles!  We got to the fields early and spent some time on the playground,  notice the jeans and long sleeves!  It felt like fall this morning, my favorite time of the year!

Julianna walked around the entire game.  She was so tired when it was over.

Guarding the goal

Post game pep talk with the coach...still smiling

1st day of PreK

I know this is a little late, but you know the saying.....better late than never!

And just for the record, he picked out that red shirt to wear on the 1st day.  Why, you ask?  So it would match the red fireman helmet that is in the dress up area, of course!

New Blog Design

Step away from your Google Reader for a moment and check out my new blog design!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  If you need a blog makeover I highly recommend Tricia.  She was great to work with (not to mention easy on the budget.....I had no idea how expensive it is to get a blog makeover)!  Hopefully, having a fancy schmancy look to my blog will motivate me to post more often.

And just because I can't post without adding a picture.....

It's a shame he's so camera shy

Like Father Like Son

Ryan is already training our future lawn boy.

Mikey is focusing on making those lines straight!
